Besides the pagoda, there are also some places that tourists shouldn’t miss when travelling to Son Tra mountain. They are:

  • The 1000 year Banyan Tree – Its complex of roots has grown down to form secondary trunks. This makes it look like a huge mushroom, stand out in the forest.
  • Ban Co Peak – the highest mountain on Son Tra Peninsula. The road to this peak is winding and quite dangerous, but it is worth, especially if you want to see sunrise or sunset from there
  • Radar domes – During the Vietnam War, they belonged to the American military. Now, they are operated by the Vietnamese military. There is also a helicopter pad, which was used by the US army to furnish its ground troops with supplies.
  • Bãi Nam, Bãi Bụt, Bãi Bắc, Bãi Đá Đen,..

With many nice places like that, a half day seems quite short to visit this Monkey Mountain.

If you are planning to stay in Da nang some days, and if the weather is nice, do not miss this interesting mountain.
