Travel Itinerary From Hue To DMZ By Car

Your round trip Hue to DMZ by car begins with a warm pickup from your hotel by our friendly and experienced driver. Along the way, you’ll explore some of the most iconic historical sites in Vietnam’s DMZ region:

Horror Highway (The Street of Horror) – On May 1, 1972, this stretch of Highway 1, about 10 km south of Quang Tri City, witnessed tragic loss of life during intense artillery and infantry attacks. Thousands of civilians and soldiers were killed, leaving a deep mark in local memory.

Long Hung Church – Traveling south on Highway 1A, you’ll see this church, built in 1955-56 with reinforced concrete. Despite heavy damage in 1972, it stands as a testament to the courage of North Vietnamese defenders who held it for 81 days under heavy attack.

Doc Mieu Firebase – Located 8 km south of the Ben Hai River, this former American base was part of the “McNamara Line.” Today, it is occasionally visited by American veterans and historians searching for MIAs, with remnants of Vietnamese soldiers still found.

Hien Luong Bridge – Once destroyed by bombing in 1967, the original bridge was painted half red and half yellow, symbolizing the division between North and South Vietnam.
