Detail Itinerary Danang to DMZ by car

Your DMZ from Danang tour will begin with being picked up from your hotel by our friendly driver. Along the way, you will visit:

  • Hai Van PassThis breathtaking 21 kilometer road winding along the mountainside between Hue and Danang is a must-see.
  • Horror Highway (The street of horror) –  May 1, 1972 will never be forgotten by people in Quang Tri and Thua Thien provinces not because it is the International Labor Day, but because the horrible carnage on the Vietnam Highway 1 about ten kilometers south of Quang Tri City. Thousands of civilians, mostly the elders, women, children and scores of soldiers were killed by artillery and infantry weapons in hours of shooting.
  • Long Hung Church – Head south from the town down highway 1a towards Hue and you’ll notice Long Hung Church. It stands as a testament to the strength and bravery shown against the American an South Vietnamese forces. For 81 days the North Vietnamese held the church while the Americans and South Vietnamese forces fought to take it back with machine gun fire, grenades, and even shells from warships.
  • Doc Mieu Firebase – 8km south of the Ben Hai River and just off Highway 1, is this former American base, once part of ‘the McNamara Line’. It has been extensively picked over by scrap-metal collectors, and recently by American veteran groups searching for MIAs (missing in actions). Most of the remains unearthed in recent years have been those of Vietnamese.
  • Hien Luong Bridge – The original Hien Luong Bridge was destroyed by American bombing in 1967. At the time, it was painted ½ red and ½ yellow, a vivid reminder that this was a physical and ideological boundary separating the two zones of Viet Nam.
  • Vinh Moc Tunnels – The tunnels were constructed on three levels at 10, 15 and 20-23m deep, with good ventilation, freshwater wells and, eventually, a generator and lights. The underground village was also equipped with school, clinics and a maternity room where 17 children were born. Each family was allocated a tiny cavern, barely larger than a single bed. These tunnels were built taller than the Cu Chi Tunnels.

After stopping at all stops on your trip Danang to DMZ by car, our experienced and friendly driver will drop you off at your hotel in Danang!

Transport to Hoi An Had a great experience with Kent Hoang from Da Nang Airport to Hoi An. He was courteous, friendly and spoke very good English. He gave us some pointers on things to do in and around Hoi An. In fact, his wife is a performer in the Hoi An Memories show and that was fantastic. A huge production that was pretty spectacular. Would see it again thanks to Kent.

I book trip from Da Nang to DMZ, Da Nang to Hue, Hue to Hoi An, Hoi An to Ba Na hills and Hoi An to Da Nang airport for total 5 trip. Mr. Henry is our first driver. He has a quirky personality, very funny and enthusiastic. Mr. Trung who is our 2nd driver for Hue tour – Da Nang is very polite and knowledgeable. Mr. Loc, the driver from Hue to Hoi An, is very professional. I think he’s the best driver we encounter in this trip. The traffic in Vietnam is quite chaotic but yet, he managed to make us feel very safe with him. The last driver who take us from Hoi An to Da Nang airport, I didn’t catch his name but he is also very knowledgeable for a driver. He told me a lot of things about history and policy in Central Vietnam.

The service they had provided for us is excellent and reliable, I prefer to book with VM Car again.

We booked a private tour Danang to DMZ via email and thankfully were lucky enough to have Anthony as our driver and Thach as our guide. The whole experience was very interesting and both spoke good English and gave us a great informations about the area and the history. Both took their time to explain things and let you take the tour at your own pace. There is a rough guide to the day but if you fancy looking at something else or stopping they will do this for you. This tour was more for my husband who is fascinated with the war but I found myself so engrossed too as they both have a passion they want to share with you. Anthony is a friendly driver and has a great sense of humour. The whole day was a great experience and worth every penny. So glad we did this.
