Itinerary For My Son Sanctuary Tour Small Group
7:30 am – 8:00 am: Your driver and guide will pick you up from your hotel in Hoi An and depart for My Son Sanctuary to begin your exploration.
9:00 am: Arrive at My Son Sanctuary and start your tour.
My Son is a fascinating archaeological site with towers and tombs dating back from the 7th to the 14th centuries. However, archaeological evidence suggests that the Champa kings were buried here as early as the 4th century. The sanctuary originally contained more than 70 structures, including small, medium, and large towers, and was a center of religious and cultural life for the Champa Kingdom.
While most of the buildings were initially constructed with wood, they were destroyed by fire as early as the 6th century. In the 7th century, the temples were rebuilt using special bricks, which still stand today. By the 13th century, over 70 temples had been constructed, making My Son a major Hindu sanctuary in the Champa Kingdom.
You will also have the opportunity to admire Champa dance performed by local people.
11:00 am – 12:30 pm: After the visit, enjoy a traditional lunch at a local house, sampling authentic local dishes.
12:30 pm: After lunch, head to the Cau Lau boat station and board a motorized boat for a scenic journey up the Thu Bon River, making your way back to Hoi An.
1:30 pm – 2:00 pm: Arrive back in Hoi An, you will be transferred to your hotel. Say goodbye and end of My Son Sanctuary Tour half day small group.
